The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office has a direct tip telephone line so that anyone with information regarding a crime can call (260) 668-4646. The system was developed to better serve the community by sending valuable information directly to law enforcement detectives. The Sheriff’s Tip Line is not for emergency calls of service or calls of service requiring immediate deputy response and/or immediate callback. Tipsters can remain completely anonymous or they can choose to leave their name and contact information for an investigator to follow up. The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging the public to take advantage of both the direct line (260) 668-4646 or contact us with tips of crimes or criminal activity on the Contact Page. Suspicious activity or crimes occurring in progress should be reported to 911 or (260) 665-3131 immediately.
